U.S SHOPPING

Last weekend we decided to take the kids shopping in the U.S of A. We had so much fun! We all drove down to Burlington, Vermont. We did a bit of shopping there. Yes Mom...I made it to my favorite store--Bath And Bodywork's. I love that store so much, I think that I was in it for two hours!! They always get new things and I just have to check them all out. And of course, the girls who work there are just adorable! When coming out of that store, I smellllll lake a newww women. hehehe

We then took the ferry across to Plattsburgh. The kids loved taking the Ferry, as you can see by what Sarah is wearing the day was a bright and sunny one. We hit the TJ Max store which always makes both Sarah and I leave with a HUGE smile and even huger bags. We found shoes, sandals, and cutesy new summer clothes for Sarah. I also found a Kathy Van Zealand purse that couldn't leave without. (or is that live without?hehehe) Nick and Mitchell also found some treasures.
After filling our faces with Friendly's, and of course we couldn't do Friendly's without the Sunday's!! Nick took us to a beach that had the most amazing view. The weather that day was in it's 20's. But we were all very surprised to see just how high the water is this year. If you look at the pictures normally you can go down the stairs and walk the beach, but the water was up past the stairs.

For some reason the grass always looks greener in the States, and the water bluer. We stayed the night in Plattsburgh, so the kids could do a bit of swimming in the hotel pool. We all had a really fun time, only wish that family could be closer so that it could be enjoyed with you all. Sarah always makes a comment about having her cousins closer. We think of you all at least once a day. Just had to toss that in...it is import to let you know you are always in our thoughts, and definitely in our hearts.

MONTREAL CRAZY!!!!

I couldn't even come up with a title for this blog, let alone express how crazy Montrealer's have gotten since all this HOCKEY craze has started!!
Not only has our gas gone up to 139.4, but the people have gone red and blue!!
Everywhere you go...people are wearing Montreal Canadian t-shirts. You drive down the road...everyone has flags on their cars.
I walked into school the other day and it was hockey shirt day, since it is a school that must wear uniform it looked really different. What they do is bring in two dollars to wear a different shirt. That money is then donated to a cause in our area.
It is a pretty amazing thing to see actually, but the rowdiness in the headlines after games is simply embarrassing. Sarah and I both got on the wagon and bought t-shirts also...we have sat home and wore our shirts and watched the game...but we have no intentions of going out afterwards and setting cars on fire!!
When the city needs to call in the RCMP, and over 700 officers are patrolling downtown with a helicopter to boot...I think that maybe it isn't about hockey at all. It is truly embarrassing to live in this city with the horrific behavior. Proud of the team...not of the fans.

NEW LAWS

I truly love living here. The West Island of Montreal is a wonderful place for Anglophone people. But the rules of "Quebec" unfortunately still apply. If it isn't the sign police roaming around to point out that the words in french are smaller then the English, we now have phone police!!! It is now a law in the province of Quebec that you can no longer speak or text while behind the wheel of your vehicle. This isn't much of an issue for me since I use an ear piece and my phone is equipped with speak commands.

But, some people still insist that they must not only speak on their phones but they also use the other hand to wave hello with their middle fingers while slightly missing you weaving over their lanes. Not only will they now get a nice fine of at least 15o.00, but they will now loose points for their ignorance:) Happiness is...they say that in time what comes around...goes around;)
